The site uses no cookies, no trackers and no analytics. It collects no personal data.

The site uses your browser's sessionStorage for three technical purposes: caching the latest version number for one hour, remembering which animal is shown from one page to the next, and noting a language change during navigation to animate the language switch.

This data stays in your browser, is shared with nobody and disappears when you close the tab.

This storage is strictly necessary for the site to work and is not used to track you. It therefore needs no consent and no cookie banner.

The browser makes a single external call: the public GitHub API, to read the latest version number. GitHub then receives your IP address, as with any request.

GitHub is a US company, so this technical data (your IP address) may be processed in the United States.

If the call fails, the page stays the same, without the number.

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may log technical requests, such as the IP address. Details are in the GitHub privacy statement (external link).

Lucania stores everything locally on your computer, in %APPDATA%\com.lucania.desktop\data\app.db. It sends nothing, except to your own Ollama servers.
